Drive a few miles northwest from Uxbridge to Mendon and catch a show just like they did way back in the day. The Mendon Twin Drive-In is one of the few classic-style drive-ins remaining in the state. This drive-in opened in the 1950s and can accommodate up to 800 vehicles in its massive open outdoor viewing lot. Mendon has two different screens, which means they play two movies concurrently in different areas. Judi’s Snack Shack is the on-site snack bar where you can get everything from nachos and popcorn to Twizzlers and lemonade.

Just a few miles west of Uxbridge in Douglas, Breezy Picnic Grounds and Waterslides is a local favorite watering hole in the hottest months of the year. This unique water park is planted right on the shores of the Whitin Reservoir, which is highly prized for its crystal waters. The park offers a large system of slides, three of which are 300 feet in length, and there are tons of good spots to enjoy swimming in the lake or having a picnic on the grass.
Embark on scenic hikes, spot local wildlife, and enjoy peaceful views on the well-maintained trails of this serene park. West Hill Park is tucked away on a back road in Uxbridge where you feel like you’re far away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. The West River stretches wider here to create a natural pool where locals love to wade and swim. However, the surrounding trails are a lot of fun to explore as well.
